FERRO-BET RUSTREMOVER
Ferro-Bet Rustremover removes rust and prepares steel surfaces prior to applying paint. It also changes active rust to passive iron phosphate and prevents further corrosive activity beneath a new layer of paint. Ferro-Bet Rust Remover can be applied by submersion, with a spray or a brush. Loose rust should be brushed away prior to application. When the surface turns a greyish white Ferro-Bet Rustremover has penetrated the rust. This film can then be brushed or washed off (if the surface is dark or slippery Ferro-Bet Rust Remover needs more time to work). If the corrosive attack is severe the process might have to be repeated. The surface should not be worked on further until completely dry.
Many of you are working hard to find a product that can save the integrity of a metallic surface after it has been attacked by rust. Often people will paint directly on the rusty surface or try to sand the surface down. Between these two suboptimal choices it is far preferable to sand away the rust prior to applying paint as there will be far less rust under the paint when a new rust attack occurs. However, if you are looking for a long term solution we recommend Ferro-Bet Rustremover as the solution you should use to remove rust as well as to prevent future attacks. By applying Ferro-Bet Rustremover you will obliterate rust from the deep crevices of the metal and simply make sure it will not recur.
This is how you do the job:
- Brush away rusty grime
- Spray on Ferro-Bet Rustremover (needs to work 35-45 minutes)
- Wash or brush away surface residue
- Treat the surface with a penetrating paint/stain (for instance Ferro-Bet Sealer)
If you have a lot of rusty nails/bolts submerge these in a diluted Ferro-Bet Rust Remover bath for a deep clean.

FERRO-BET ALU-CLEAN
For cleaning of aluminum alloys: The alloy should be cool (not recently warm from braking). Spray Ferro-Bet Alu Clean on one alloy at a time. After spraying, work the fluid into the alloy with a stiff brush. Let it work for 10-30 seconds. Clean off with plenty of water. If there is still some dirt present, repeat the process. Since Ferro Bet Alu Clean is very strong do not leave it on the surface for too long a period without washing off as it could harm the alloy in the long term (rather repeat the process as described above if the desired effect is not achieved after the first application). Avoid applying to deep cracks in the alloy. This product is not intended for chrome alloys.
Removal of asphalt and brake dust: Spray Ferro-Bet Alu Clean on the affected area and leave on until desired result is achieved. If necessary, work the product carefully into the alloy with a cloth. As soon as the desired result is achieved wash off the remaining cleaner with large amounts of water. Always remember that Ferro-Bet Alu Clean is a very strong product so be careful with the length of time you are leaving the product on the surface you are cleaning.
Usable life: If you want to test if your Ferro-Bet Alu Clean is still working, dip a galvanized nail into the product. If it is "boiling" the product is ready for use.
Priming of aluminum: If you are treating an aluminum surface, Ferro-Bet Alu Clean can be an excellent primer of the surface you are treating. Apply Ferro-Bet Alu Clean on a cloth and rub thoroughly. It will provide much improved coverage for your paint/lacquer.
Ferro-Bet Alu Clean is a very strong product and should not be used recklessly. If you have any doubt as to whether the surface you are working on can take the product do a test!
Ferro-Bet Alu Clean can be diluted with up to ten parts of water. |

FERRO-BET RUSTWASH
Ferro-Bet Rustwash is especially developed for shipping/offshore applications and problems associated with rusty stains on treated surfaces For many years we have kept large and small ships squeeky clean. Ferro-Bet Rustwash is easy to apply and easy to handle with wonderful result. All ship owners and captains can now enjoy a clean vessel with very little effort and time. Ferro-Bet Rustwash will give you the most efficient and inexpensive results.
Areas of use:
1. Removing rust spots
2. Remove oil, grime, salt, alge etc
3. Prepare aluminum surfaces for paint/stain applications
4. Clean metal surfaces after welding
5. The most thorough cleaning possible
Directions for use:
For cleaning of rust spots, grime, salt etc.
1. Spray Ferro-Bet Rustwash on the affected area
2. If possible work the product into the affected area with a brush
3. Leave in for 5-15 minutes
4. Clean affected area with plenty of water
Ferro-Bet Rustwash will be your unique cleaning tool virtually anywhere on your vessel. When you have given up on all your other cleaning tools it will be time to try Ferro-Bet Rushwash.
Cleaning of aluminum surfaces.
1. Spray directly on the affected area or on a wash rag that is then applied to the area
2. Rub until a grimy film comes off the surface
After the desired result is achieved let the affected area dry. Feel free to clean off the area with water. This will ensure better surface traction for any further treatment.
After welding:
1. Spray direclty on the surface or apply with a wash rag
2. Leave in for 2-5 minutes
3. If desired clean area with water to avoid residue
Ferro-Bet Rustwash is a powerful cleaner that should be used with care. If you are uncertain if the material you are working with can withstand the Rust Wash use a small area for a test. Ferro-Bet Rustwash can be diluted with water up to a 10:1 ratio.
General Information.
This product is specifically developed for removal of rust stains, soot, oil and salt on painted and unpainted surfaces on all kinds of vessels. The Ferro-Bet Rustwash is also great for the removal of fungi that develops on wooden vessels. For this purpose it could affect the colour of the remaining wood and a small test area is preferable. Remember to remove the rust first with the Ferro-Bet Rustremover product line. If you do not remove old rust prior to applying paint/varnish the life of the Sealer (and most other paints) is reduced significantly.
Ferro-Bet Sealer is a hardwearing lacquer, which means it should be painted on areas that are exposed to great stress. For example, wheel arches, ladders, cargo, tow hooks, buckets for excavators, in short all the places where you need a paint with extra durability.
Ferro-Bet Sealer also works very well in the ventilation systems, as it stands up well against moisture.
What you need:
Ferro-Bet Rustremover
Rubber gloves
Cleaning paper, steel brush, etc.
Brushes
Ferro-Bet Sealer (black, oxidered, or clear)
Preparation:

The Rust Remover will remove rust down in the pores of the metal and in this way the Sealer, which is oil based, will have the ability to grow in the pores of the steel that is now without rust.

When the rust is removed and the metal is dry are you ready for further treatment.
Application:
Ferro-Bet Sealer is available as a spray or as ordinary liquid paint. Choose what suits your needs the most as the quality is identical. Sealer is applied directly on the steel, preferably in three thin layers. This way you will have a primer that will penetrate the pores of the metal, and you will have a very strong surface that will withstand most any stressor. The second layer will ensure that punctures or other penetrations will not reach the metal and will also enhance the colour as the primer layer will appear thin as it penetrates the steel. The third layer will be a top coat with gloss of about 90.
PS. We encourage wet on wet application with eventual drying time of 2-6 hours. Allow 1-2 weeks to achieve ultimate surface strength of the product.
Painting over the Ferro-Bet Sealer:
We do not recommend painting over the Sealer with acrylic- or cellulose based products as this could cause the surface to boil. If you desire another layer of paint on top of the Ferro-Bet Sealer we recommend allowing the Sealer to dry and strengthen for about two weeks. Make sure you test a small area to ensure boiling does not occurr. A layer of the Ferro-Bet Sink product can be applied on top of the Sealer prior to application of another paint to ensure that boiling will not occurr.
Other tips:
Feel free to apply Ferro-Bet Sealer with spray paint, then thin with Ferro-Bet Aceton.
By using zinc under Sealeren the zinc will "snug" and could provide a rust delayed effect when scratched or hit.
We can produce Ferro-Bet Sealer in other colors if the quantity exceeds 350 liters.
Remember that the metal has two sides. You will never win the fight against rust if you do not treat both sides of the metal and seal the aftermath.

FERRO-BET WIREGREASE
Wire grease deeply penetrates the wire with no need to heat. It creates a surface film with significant staple capacity and prevents water and dirt from penetrating. A dry wire needs a second application as the first application penetrates to the core. The wire grease will not turn to liquid at any temperature below 90 degree celsius and will not turn brittle until it reaches negative 40 degree celsius. The product colour is light and will not colour off on other surfaces. Wire Grease is perfect for all working wires like life boat wire, screws, bolts, tie-up wire, closing screws, the drive wheels in the anchor game and everywhere else requiring an effective rust preventive grease. It comes ready to use It can be thinned with White Spirit or a similar product. Apply in the lubrication system, with a glove or by submersion. |

FERRO-BET DEGREASER
Ferro-Bet Degreaser is a powerful cleaner for any base surface. It is engineered to clean oil, grease, dirt etc, from engines, decks, engine rooms, hulls and so forth. Ferro-Bet Degreaser is applied with a spray or a brush. Leave on for 2-5 minutes before flushing clean with water or brushing clean with a cloth or twist. Feel free to put Ferro-Bet Degreaser in the high pressure wash. For best results, always wash the area in lukewarm water. Ferro-Bet Degreaser also has an amazing quality that does not create "zebra - stripes" if it dries out on the surface. When working with large surfaces drying out can easily be a problem. If Ferro-Bet Degreaser dries out, simply use the high pressure wash and the Degreaser comes to “life”.
If you have areas where not even the Degreaser can solve the problem, a combination of Ferro-Bet Rustwash should resolve the issue. Be very aware that the Ferro-Bet Rustwash is very powerful product. If you are in doubt whether or not it could damage the surface conduct a small area test. Also keep in mind that Ferro-Bet Rustwash can be diluted with up to 10 parts water. |

VG-TAPE (Densotape)
Ferro-Bet VG tape protects pipelines and tanks to be buried in the ground or kept in a humid environment. It is also used when developing hydraulic links. VG - Tape is not attacked by rot, microorganisms or corrosive elements in the soil. Their double-sided mounting capability ensures absolute density of overlap. This is essential for the achievement of long-term corrosion protection in the ground. VG - Tape is used as a rust protective, insulating and tightening intermediate layer between steel and wood and glass and steel. It is used for rail cars, steel structures, ships, greenhouses, roof tiles and hydraulics. It is simple to apply by hand or with the wind machine. Apply tightly with 10% overlap on a clean surface (rust should be removed with Ferro-Bet Rustremover). To achieve the best result we recommend a combination of VG-grees tape and VG - plastic cover tape. Can withstand temperatures from + 50 degrees Celsius to negative 30/40 degrees Celsius |
